Speech Title: Synthesis and biological effects of N-substituted 2-aminobenzothiazoles
Abstract: 2-Aminobenzothiazoles bearing various substituents on the amino group are known for many years. Over the decades, compounds with anti-infective (Trypanosoma infections, tuberculosis, Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria, fungi), inhibitory and antitumor effects were found but only one representative is both specific and efficient enough and also safe enough to be used as a drug in human. In this work, several derivatives were prepared according to a procedure described before (Fajkusova, 2008) and tested in various biological assays. Anti-infective and herbicidal activities of the compounds will be discussed.
