Dr. V. S. Santhosh Mithra is currently working as Principal Scientist in ICAR-Central Tuber Crops Research Institute, Thiruvananthapuram, INDIA. He served as a consultant of Michigan State University, USA, CIP (International Potato Centre), Peru and CIAT (International Centre for Tropical Agriculture), Colombia on Computer simulation modelling. He has as twenty-two years of experience in computer simulation modelling, artificial intelligence, computer application in agriculture and web technologies. Has developed many computer simulation models for tropical tuber crops, which are are widely used throughout the world. He developed e-Crop an IoT device which is a real-time single point solution to multiple problems in farming. Many online tools for different applications were also developed by him. Online cassava market TOMS, OUSHADHAM an online tool to diagnose diseases and pests of tuber crops, VFT: cassava and VFT: taro, mobile apps to identify the varieties of cassava and taro respectively by image analysis and TUBER INFORMATION CAFE an online experts’ system of tropical tuber crops were developed by him. SREE VISAKHAM CASSAVA EXPERT SYSTEM an online expert system for cassava was also developed by him. He has about 30 publications to his credit and visited many countries.
